It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of a devoted mother, Maria Paiva who passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's at the age of 85, joining her predeceased husband, Norberto Paiva. She was a devoted mother to Lorena (Mike), Cathy (Armando), Toni (Rick), Joe, Norman, and Jessie (Francelina). Treasured vavo to Sabrina, Brian, Jason, Brianna, Sarah, Anthony, and Braelyn and was about a week away from being a great-grandmother. Maria Known for her infectious laughter and compassionate heart, she devoted her life to raising her children and bringing joy to those around her. She will be missed by her children, brothers and sister and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Extendicare in Hamilton which treated her like family for the last seven years.      

Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Thursday, February 26, from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. A Funeral will be held at St. Mary's Parish, 23 Sheaffe Street, Hamilton, on Friday, February 27, at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Burlington.
