It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Zizza (nee Maffeo) in her 99th year, surrounded by family. Welcoming Maria into heaven are her parents, sisters, husband Michele, daughter Flora, and son-in-law, Leandro. Maria is survived by her daughter Assunta Di Cesare, son Tony, son-in-law Antonio, 6 grandchildren, their spouses, and 12 great grandchildren.

In 1959 from Italy she set out with her husband and two daughters to start a new life in Canada. While making their new life they were blessed with the birth of their son. Maria took pride in raising and providing a good life for her family.

Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Maria, would fondly remember her as a hard-working woman with a strength and fortitude like no other. She loved hosting family gatherings, cooking for her family, and reminiscing about younger years and her love for music and dancing.
