In Celebration of

Mark Bistoyong

September 11, 2006 -  July 2, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Bistoyong shares the news of his passing. Born on September 11, 2006, his life was tragically taken on July 2, 2023 at the tender age of 16.

He will be fondly remembered as the beloved son of Rino and Merl Bistoyong, cherished brother of Luke, Adam and Cain Bistoyong, treasured grandson of Ulysses and Josie Bistoyong, and Laval and Linda Lee and dear nephew of Eunice and Norm Legendre (Noah & Leah), J.R Bistoyong and Shirley-Anne Lee (Evan & Ethan).

Mark was a bright, mature young man set to enter Grade 12 in the fall after completing Grade 11 with honours. He was a talented athlete participating in a wide range of sports from a young age. He learned to skate at 3 years old and went on to play rep hockey for 4 years. He also practiced jiu jitsu for 10 years and muay thai for 2. In recent years, Mark represented the STM Football and Wrestling teams and had a keen interest in fitness and weightlifting. After successfully completing his certification as a swim instructor, he was to spend this summer working as a lifeguard at Wild Waterworks.

Mark was an endless source of pride and joy to his parents and one of immense strength and guidance to his brothers. Mark’s love and generosity were the glue that held his family together. He was also a loyal and dependable friend to many. His charm, kind heart and playful personality touched everyone he met. Mark was a bright light full of potential who was set to accomplish great things. He will remain forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton on Saturday July, 8 and Sunday July 9, at 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. The funeral mass will take place at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 20 Idlewood Ave, Hamilton on Monday July 10 at 10am, followed by entombment at Resurrection Cemetery, in the Our Lady of Hope Mausoleum, 254 Garner Rd West, Ancaster.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in honour of Mark with donations contributing to the
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at McMaster Children's Hospital and the establishment of the Mark Bistoyong Bursary.
