It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michelino Ciancone at the age of 96 on October 29, 2025. Dad passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Wentworth Lodge, Dundas. Reunited with his beloved wife Giuseppina. Devoted father of Joanna (Greg) and the late Antonio (Lisa). Proud and loving Nonno to Christina (Corey), Michael (Margaret) and Matthew (Victoria), who were the most precious joys in his life. Adoring Bisnonno to Sawyer and Mason.
Dad was born in Fontecchio, Italy. He is predeceased by his parents Sabatino and Giovanna Ciancone, in-laws Giuseppe and Brigida Suffoletta, brothers Antonio (Antonietta), Vittorio (Delia), Arnaldo (Maria Giovanna), Luigi (Maria Pia), and sisters Sr. Maria and Ninetta, as well as brother-in-laws Antonio Suffoletta (Dora), Donato Tortis and sister-in-law Filomena Radassao (Sebastiano). Survived by his dear sister-in-law Domenica Tortis.
Zio Lino will be greatly missed by his many wonderful nieces and nephews, dear cousins and friends in Canada, USA and Italy.
Dad retired from Dofasco after 35 years of service. He valued providing for his family and seeing his children and grandchildren grow and succeed. We will forever cherish the love, sacrifices, strength and devotion that he carried throughout his entire life.
Dad had a passion tending to his vegetable garden where he enjoyed spending countless hours. He took great joy in sharing his bountiful produce with family, friends and neighbours. We have many fond memories of our dad preparing meals with our mom that we shared, gathered around the table, surrounded by loved ones, that we will treasure forever. He will be dearly missed, but his love, his food, and the memories he created will live on through those he touched.
Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Rd. E. on Monday, November 3rd from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 20 Idlewood Ave., Hamilton on Tuesday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Wentworth Lodge for the compassionate care they provided for Dad in his later years.
We were blessed to have had Dad for so long and we take comfort in knowing that he is now resting in peace with the Lord.
