January 19, 1955 -  March 4, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Nancy D’Olimpio (Jeles) announce her unexpected passing at the age of 68. Nancy was born on January 19, 1955, in Simcoe, ON. After a brief illness, she peacefully passed away, on March 4, 2023, at the Juravinski Hospital.

Nancy will be dearly missed by her loving husband and soulmate of 44 years, Tony D’Olimpio. Nancy was the loving daughter of Pearl and Michael Jeles (predeceased) and the stepdaughter of Steven Kassay (predeceased). She will be fondly cherished by her siblings Pearl Anne Charter (David) and Lana Fawcett (predeceased). Nancy is predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfredo and Ida D’Olimpio. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Mary Gambale (Louis), Antoinette Reynolds (Peter), Franca Marchionda (Pat), and Lisa DeFelice (Mario). Nancy was a loving and caring aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her warm smile and loving nature made her a joy to be around. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Nancy was a retired teacher and principal of the HWCDSB for many years. She will be fondly remembered by her many students, colleagues, and friends. She took great joy in playing the piano and was the organist at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. Nancy enjoyed spending time gardening, cooking, walking, and caring for her cats.

The family would like to acknowledge and extend a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at the Juravinski Hospital (ICU) for their exceptional care and devotion to our beloved Nancy in her final days.

Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Road East) on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Parish on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 12:00 noon. I met Nancy when she would help out with the CWL Choir. She knew how to get us to sing - she always brought treats. From that day forward we always acknowledged each other when we were both at the same mass. Just two weeks before her passing her she gave me a big hug as we took time to catch up. I’m sure the choirs in heaven will appreciate your beautiful music but I will forever miss it.

Deepest condolences to Tony and the rest of Nancy’s family during this very sad time. 🙏🏻💕🙏🏻
