It is with great sadness that the family of Nicholas Petis announce his peaceful passing on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the age of 88. Nicholas is survived by his high school sweetheart and dear wife of 64 years, Elizabeth and children Donald (Valerie), Linda (David), Nicholas Jr (MaryAnne), and David (Kelly). Grandpa will be dearly missed by his 13 grandchildren and 9.5 great-grandchildren. Nicholas was a founding member of St. Michael’s Hungarian Greek Catholic Church. Nick enjoyed 27 years of retirement after 30 years of service with Dofasco, and was an avid gardener and keen cheerleader to his children and grandchildren’s many activities.

The family will receive friends at Bay Gardens Funeral Home at 947 Rymal Rd E. Hamilton on Sunday July 22 from 2pm to 6pm. Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Monday July 23rd at 11:00am at St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church – 521 West 5th Street, Hamilton. Luncheon to follow in the adjoining hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the charity of your choice.
