I had talked to Mansaram by telephone about 3-weeks before he passed away, to my shock and consternation. I had met him about 10-years ago at an exhibition of his art. Because of our common interest in the work of Marshall McLuhan we struck up a friendship and I started to post notifications about his exhibitions on social media. When a journal issued a call for essays on the subject of McLuhan and the Arts, I proposed to write an article about his art, focusing on the collaborative collage he had created that Marshall McLuhan had contributed to. That article was accepted and was published both online and in a printed journal. After that we kept in touch. After his dear wife Tarunika passed away, and later the pandemic struck the world, I used to telephone him in his Burlington retirement home. He had invited me to attend his art exhibition at the Burlington Art Gallery, but our plans had to be cancelled when the Burlington area became a Covid-19 red zone. I was phoning him weekly but because of work, I failed to phone him for several weeks. It was then that I learned of his passing and felt bad that I had not phoned him for several weeks. Both Mansaram and Tarunika were wonderful people and I will miss them greatly. Rest in peace my dear friend.
I can't explain how much i'd really miss you. You are an inspiration to the whole world. You were full of faith, courage and strength. We wish you farewell in your journey to eternity. You'd never be forgotten, rest in peace. Miss you uncle.......
We are really going to miss Mansaramji. We talked pretty much every week and provided him with contact for food tiffin service. He was very appreciative of our seniors group and India Canada Society's work and events. His art work is amazing and it is still at Burlington Art Gallery until Jan 2021.
May his soul rest in peace !
