In Celebration of

Peter John Fowlie

December 3, 1948 -  April 17, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Fowlie on Monday, April 17, 2023, in his 75th year. Peter was a devoted husband to Janice for 49 years, proud father to Paul and Scott, cherished brother to Barb (Dan) and Rob (Aly), brother-in-law to Dean (Maureen) and Mark, and beloved uncle to Kara, Kait, Laura and Anthony (Meghan), and friend to many.

Peter was born on December 3, 1948, in St. Catherines, Ontario to parents Ann (Nana) and John (Papa). After graduating from Nelson High in Burlington, he went on to study Applied Chemistry at the University of Waterloo. His chemistry career led him to found Cornerstone Science where he designed and taught specialized courses and found himself travelling to varied international destinations such as Bangladesh, São Paulo, and regions across North America.

Peter was also an accredited Master Photographer, a lover of cooking, baking, gardening, and music. He shared his eclectic music selections with friends and family, keeping us all entertained and united. Peter was the Patriarch of our family and always made sure to keep our family together for annual dinners and special events. His family was his greatest joy. While Peter will be greatly missed, he will be forever remembered for his good humour, generous spirit, giant hugs and love for our family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 22nd from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m. at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, Burlington, 1010 Botanical Drive.

Donations can be made to the Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dear Janice and Fowlie Family,
I am greatly saddened to learn of Peter's sudden passing. Please accept my sincere condolences.
I have a wealth of memories of our antics as freshman all the way through to graduation from the University of Waterloo. Peter and I managed to reside together both on and off campus for periods of time during our~ 5years at Waterloo and even though life took us in different directions, I always considered him a life long friend. We shared a mutual love of music and one of my fondest memories are of him (Pierre) and I (Rocky) jamming over and over together in the dorm room late at night to the latest new song by the Beatles. Those were unforgettable times and that's the way I will remember him always.
Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the celebration of life but I will be thinking of you Janice and your family a nd wish you peace and love at this difficult time.
Best Regards,
John
