In Celebration of

Pietro "Peter" Reda

April 12, 1951 -  February 16, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pietro Reda on February 16, 2023, at the age of 71 years, after a battle with cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family, devoted wife Gioconda, children Marisa (Carm), Sandra (Tony) and Lisa (Rick). His beautiful grandchildren Paolo, Alessia, Julianna, Joseph, Ricky Jr., Bella, Sandro and Victoria. Nonno is now reunited with his grandson Sebastiano and holding him in his arms. Peter was the dear baby brother to his late sister Maria (Giuseppe), Antonio (Maria), Franca, Aurora (Frank); and predeceased by his parents Giovanni Reda and Nicolina Reda (Veltri). Peter was the loving son-in-law and brother-in-law of the Maccarrone, Caridi, Marchese and Borelli family.
Peter immigrated from Domanico, Cozenza, Italy to Hamilton, Ontario on June 10, 1965, married in 1974 and started his family. Peter had a love for baking and turned it into a career for himself, opening up his own bakery called Domestic Bakery, and becoming well-known for his amazing cannoli. He then continued the rest of his working days at Frank’s Sicilia Bakery. Peter was a football fan and loved watching his favourite team, Buffalo Bills. He also had a love for playing cards, especially at his Italian Club. Peter was always smiling, laughing and joking around. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Special thanks to the caring staff at the Brantford General Hospital Critical Care Unit.
