I am sorry very sorry for your loss.
Doug gave more this this world than he took.
Dear Lily, Ryan and Reagan,
Our hearts are aching with this sad and sudden news. What a good man Doug was! He loved his family and served his community with dedication. I remember him as a boy and how much he enjoyed hockey, water skiing, snow skiing and fast boats - when he wasn't on crutches from falling out of a tree or crashing down a ski hill. When he grew up and met Lily he found his focus and his true love. I recall when Doug so proudly became a father to Ryan and then Reagan. More recently I remember Doug treating our parents with great love and tenderness as they grew old.
His life was way too short, but it was truly a life well lived.
Love, Shelley
Very saddened to hear of Doug's sudden passing. My sincere condolences to the Waugh Family. I got to know Doug through our professional relationship when I first arrived in Hamilton as the CACC Manager and thereafter until my retirement in 2010. I will remember Doug for his professionalism and dedication. He was genuine, caring and someone who I always considered to be "Good People". Rest in Peace Doug.
Dear Lily
Please accept my deepest condolences on your terrible loss. I was so sorry to hear of your dear husbands passing. Over the years I've heard so many wonderful things about him and knew well his service to our community. Both you and Doug have spent your lives in the service of others at life's most difficult times. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I had the honour of working with Doug for 31 years at Superior Ambulance, Laidlaw & The City of Hamilton as Paramedics. I can truly say while I have worked with many great people over this years, Doug is at the very top of that list! An excellent Paramedic, a true gentlemen who always had a handshake each and every time I saw him, he showed respect for everyone he came in contact with no matter what their level or job description, everyone got treated the same by Doug, When I was sick in the hospital it was Doug who came to see me and bring me some food, when my mother was dying in the hospital, Doug came to see me a few times and check up on me to make sure I was holding up. I will truly miss that handshake & his dry sense of humour, one of the toughest days in all my years as a medic. Thank you for your friendship Doug, you truly were loved, respected and will be missed!
