Cheng, So-Ying “Aboo” (nee Lau)

Passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026 in Hamilton, ON at the age of 87 . Lovingly remembered by her children Kin “Ken” (Nellie), Kit Sun “Diana” (John), Kit Hiu “Mimi” (late Trevor). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Arden (Alexandra), Grace (Caitlin), Jenna, Joshua, Jorja, Elizabeth “Libby” and Alexander.

Aboo was loved by all who knew her. She was a kind, caring, and generous person. She always had a smile on her face and it was very contagious. She cherished her grandchildren the most and will be especially missed by them. Aboo loved her home, her gardens, and her flowers. Her back yard was a treasure trove of colours. She loved art and sightseeing. When you walked into
her house, it was always Threes Company or The Weather Network on the TV. Most of all, she loved cooking for everyone. You never went hungry at Aboo’s house.

We would like to extend our thanks to all the staff at Wentworth Lodge for their wonderful care throughout the years and during this difficult time. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bay Gardens Funeral Home 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington. A Visitation will be held on Friday January 30, 2026 from 5pm-9pm at Bay Gardens. Chapel Service will start at 10am on Saturday January 31, 2026 burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery on Spring Garden Road.

In lieu of Flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.
