O'HARA, T.M. Gerald (Gerry)(RCMP/CSIS Retired)

Gerry passed into everlasting life on Thursday December 5, 2024, in his 90th year in Hamilton, Ontario. Survived by his wife Margaret (Midge) O'Hara, Sister Susan (Tony) and predeceased by brothers Frank (Marion), Brian (Delores) and Jack (Fran). Gerry will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Gerry enjoyed working as a dedicated member of the RCMP/CSIS for over twenty-seven years both domestically and abroad. After his first retirement he joined Motorola Canada Limited for another thirteen years as Head of Security. Gerry and Midge traveled extensively with posting to Germany, Switzerland, Israel and Trinidad in the service of Canada.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena, 620 Rymal Road East, Hamilton on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 11:00 am, with cremation to follow.

I have very fond memories of Gerry. The moment I met him, I recognized his resemblance to his brother (and my darling husband) Frank. They had the same warm smile and sly twinkle in the eye. Both were kind, pleasant, and intelligent. Both were good men.

I worked for Gerry in Halifax Security Service in the mid to late 70’s. He was a true gentleman and a wonderful boss. A more genuine human being you could not find.
