In Celebration of

Wendy Kay Oblender

May 25, 1941 -  July 29, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Kay on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, 11:45 am, at home surrounded by love, in her 85th year. We also feel so very blessed to have shared in her life and we will be forever nurtured by her love.

Wendy was born in Kitchener, on Sunday, May 25th, 1941 to Frank and Elmeta Arnold (both predeceased), and raised in Hamilton.

She was a devoted, loving wife to Bill Oblender for 62 years, meeting in Grade 5 at Bennetto School. Together they created everlasting memories and cherished their strong ties to family and friends: daughter-in-law to Malcolm and Blanche Oblender (both predeceased), dear sister-in-law to John (predeceased) and Bev Oblender, Barry and Jean (predeceased) Oblender, devoted Mother to Kim Michelle (Jim) Stewart and Tara Leigh (Paul) Opie, adored Gramma Wendy to her grandchildren Nicholas Jeffrey (EmilyArndt), Katelyn (Tye) Schreiber, Rachel (Jake) Kelly , Joshua Opie , and step grandchildren Chelsea and Travis Stewart, dearest GG Wendy to her "Great Ones" Keith and Nora (Schreiber), Peyton and Noah (Kelly), and GG Wendy was anticipating the upcoming arrival of her newest "Great One" (Nick & Emily's daughter).

Wendy's love for people and conversation is reflected in her numerous, lifelong, treasured friendships. Wendy's everyday actions have left a legacy of what true kindness, love, Faith, and devotion mean.

Friends and Family are welcome to a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 17th, 1-4 pm, at Villages of Glancaster (Country Club hall), 1000 Silverbirch Blvd. Mount Hope, as we honour Wendy's life by enjoying each other's company and conversation.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity (Transfiguration) Lutheran Church, Hamilton.

"There are some people who are always a pleasure to be around because they have a special quality that brings out the best in others. That was our Wendy Kay!"

LOVE YOU FOREVER

Wendy was a very special woman and a dear friend. She always saw the best in everyone and everything, and her family and friends were very precious to her. We spent many years vacationing in the sunny south, where our families joined us for March break. A great time was had by all. We will miss our dear Wendy, but will think of her often. Great memories. ❤️
