Dr. Adeniyi Victor Fagbuyi peacefully passed away on November 12, 2025, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 59. He is deeply cherished by his partner of over 20 years, Abiola, their beloved children: Mofopefoluwa, Morayo, and David, as well as his numerous brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
A remarkable man, Dr. Fagbuyi had an extraordinary ability to connect profoundly with those around him, especially his children. Their bond was filled with warmth, love, and understanding, reflecting his unwavering dedication to family and the close relationships he nurtured. Known for his keen intellect and emotional intelligence—truly off the charts—he navigated life with compassion and insight, leaving a meaningful impact on everyone he encountered.
Dr. Fagbuyi was a man of deep Christian faith, which served as a guiding light throughout his life. He taught Sunday school at the Redeemed Christian Church of God for many years, sharing his knowledge and nurturing the faith of others. In 2016, he was ordained as a Deacon alongside his wife, further demonstrating his commitment to his community and church. This faith provided him comfort and strength, particularly in his final hours, as he faced the journey ahead with grace and peace.
He dedicated his career to patient care as a family physician, beginning in Nigeria after graduating from the University of Ilorin School of Medicine. Over 25 years, he practiced in both northern and southern Nigeria, becoming a trusted figure in the community. In pursuit of new opportunities, he immigrated to Canada in 2016. He was accepted into Practice Ready Ontario, an accelerated pathway for internationally trained physicians to become licensed to practice family medicine in Ontario and he continued his impactful work as a family physician in Little Current, Ontario. He will be greatly missed by his patients, staff, and fellow physicians at Manitoulin Health Centre, where his warm spirit and expert care left an indelible mark on the community
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Fagbuyi had many personal passions. He enjoyed biking, reading, and traveling, often immersing himself in true crime documentaries. He loved preaching, shopping for clothes, and indulging in his favorite foods, which included egusi and pounded yam, chocolate, and ice cream. His favorite color was blue, and he relished conversations on various topics such as politics, trends, and remarkable people. A soccer enthusiast, he proudly supported Arsenal Football Club.
His legacy of care and connection will forever be remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
