It is with profound sorrow and faith that we announce the passing of Anthony Joseph Pierroz. In the quiet of the night, God called His servant home to be with Jesus and his Heavenly Father.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Norma (nee Harrison), and his six cherished children: Christine Pierroz (Tony Wong), Julie (Enrico) Palmese, Paul Pierroz (Luciana Spadafora), Peter Pierroz, Mark Pierroz, and Sarah Pierroz. He was the devoted brother of Mary (Greg) Doyle, Barbara (Tom) Matthews, and Daniel (Anna) Pierroz, and will be forever missed by his eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Etienne and Rosina (Schaeffer) Pierroz, and his beloved siblings Eugene (Kathleen) Pierroz, Conrad (Joanne) Pierroz, and Margaret (Dave) Fitchie.
From a thriving family dairy farm in Cayuga to the University of Guelph — where God placed Norma, an aspiring nursing student, in his path — to a long career as a teacher and vice-principal at secondary schools in Hagersville and Hamilton, Tony's life was one of faith, purpose, and service. He retired in 1999, and his impact continues.
Tony served as an altar boy at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Cayuga, and was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, including a term as Grand Knight.
Tony had a gift for seeing the potential in young people. He guided countless students not only toward academic success, but toward a deeper sense of their own worth and calling. His faith was not confined to Sunday Mass - it was present in every word of encouragement, and every life he quietly changed.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7
