It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel Abel, unexpectedly at the age of 82, on November 16, 2025. Loving husband of 58 years to Maureen Abel (nee O’Sullivan). Devoted Father of John (Nancy) Abel. Loving Grandfather (Lala) of Madeline and Gabriel. Son of the late George and Alice Abel. Adored Brother of the late George (Fran) Abel, the late Ronnie Abel, and the late Frank (Joan) Abel. Dedicated son in law to the late Philip and Bridget O’Sullivan, and brother-in-law to Philip O’Sullivan, Eileen O’Sullivan, Johnny (Francis) O’Sullivan, Delia (Ray) Matthews, and Patrick O’Sullivan. Daniel will be forever missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends in England, Scotland, Ireland, and Australia.

Daniel, Maureen, and John left England for Canada in 1974, with dreams of starting their new life. Daniel worked for Otis Elevator in the United Kingdom and Canada. Retiree from McMaster University, with 25 years of service. Daniel was an avid golfer, and loved watching his favourite football team, Liverpool FC. Daniel’s love and dedication for his family was immeasurable. His pride and joy came from seeing his family grow up and succeed to where they are today.

We will forever cherish the love, sacrifices, strength, and devotion that he carried throughout his entire life.

Visitations will be held at Bay Garden Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, 905-574-0405, on Friday November 21st, 2025, from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Annunciation of Our Lord Parish, located at, 280 Limeridge Rd W, Hamilton, on Saturday November 22nd, 2025, at 10 am. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Cemetery, in Stoney Creek.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Annunciation of our Lord Parish, or the Good Shepherd Centers.
