It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emilio Vazzoler, who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Emilio will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of nearly 62 years, Gina (née Sartori). He was a proud and caring father to his daughter Sabrina, his son Loris, and his wife Kim Emond. Emilio is a proud Nonno to Daniel Vazzoler and his fiancée Lindsay, Adam Vazzoler, Jonathan (Devic) with his wife Chloe and Sophia (Devic) with her fiancé Dany. Emilio is proud to share his birthday with Great-Grand-son Luka. Emilio loved his grandchildren and great grandson tremendously. Emilio is the sixth of eight siblings and is survived by his brother Adriano (wife Adriana) in Italy. Emilio will be missed by many family members and friends throughout Canada, Italy and Australia.
Emilio, like many of his generation, came to a new country without knowing the language, not much more than a suitcase of clothes, strong faith and a strong work ethic. He was hard working and did everything for the love of his family. From Italy Emilio brought his love for and knowledge of gardening, winemaking, (2022 of an exceptional year) and of course, Grappa making among other things.
He succeeded in family and life.
Emilio always had wise advice and tried to find humor in life, right to his last days.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, especially the palliative care team for making Emilio's final days comfortable and assisting the family through the difficult process of end of life care.
For the past two years Emilio and Gina have resided at the beautiful Amica Stoney Creek retirement home. In this short time, he was able to make many new friends and reacquainted with some old friends. The family would also like to thank the tremendous staff at Amica for their continued great support.
Emilio's naturally dark head of hair was the envy of everyone he met.
