It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Fermina Antonia De Palma (nee Coico) who passed away on January 2, 2026, in her 91st year, surrounded by her loving family.
Fermina is predeceased by her beloved husband of 43 years, Nazzareno. She leaves behind her son Rosario and daughter Denise Augello (Pietro), whom she guided with a mother’s gentle wisdom and loving care. Her grandchildren, Giovanni, Reno, and Melissa (Matthew) so dearly loved, shared a closeness with her shaped by tender moments, laughter, and beautiful memories that will live on in their hearts. She was especially proud to welcome her first great-grandchild Vienna, born last year, a precious blessing that filled her days with immense love and joy. She will also be deeply missed by many extended family members in Canada, Italy and Switzerland, close friends, and brothers and sisters in the Jehovah’s Witness congregation.
Fermina touched the lives of everyone she knew, leaving a lasting impression through her compassion, love, and kindness. She will be remembered for her warmth, her passion for cooking and gardening, and the comfort she brought to all who crossed her path. Guided by her unwavering faith, Fermina’s love for her family is everlasting, and her gentle spirit will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Tuesday, January 6th from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. A funeral will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 7th at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
