Peacefully surrounded by family on his favorite day of the year, December 25th, 2025, at the Juravinski Hospital at 69 years young. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Filomena, in July 2025. Respected father of Jeff (Amy Comeau) and Brian. Loving Vavu of Chelsie and Tyson. Eldest brother of Louis (predeceased) (Melinda), Connie Freitas (Frank), and Nelia Aguiar. Brother in law to José Pereira (Gabriella), John (Helen), Humberto (Liz), Paul (Nellie), and Saozinha (Lopes). Survived and deeply loved by several nieces and nephews. José fought a tough battle with cancer and truly missed the love of his life. His smile and laugh will be missed by many as he often was the life of the party no matter where he was.

Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Tuesday, December 30th, from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 620 Rymal Rd E, Hamilton, on Wednesday, December 31st, at 10 a.m. Followed by a burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 254 Garner Rd W, Ancaster.
