It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jovan "John" Sinkovec on April 18, 2026, in his 99th year. Beloved husband of 74 years to Tatiana Sinkovec, predeceased in 2022. Loving father to Janie Macesic (Daniel Sr) and Loretta Halligan (Charles). Cherished Deda to his grandchildren Daniel Macesic Jr (Hemani), Laura Ekstrom (Brett), Natalie Sokay (Dan) and Rick Halligan. He will be greatly missed by his adoring eight great grandchildren, Sarah, Sabrina, Tianna, Elena, Evan, Dylanne, Piper and Wren. Dear uncle to Vala Kazeeva and grand uncle to Olga Kazeeva (Tim) and Vlad Kazeev. Treasured great grand uncle to Vera. Predeceased by his parents Miroslav and Angelina Sinkovec and his sisters Vera Draskovic and Svetlana Naumovic. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Europe. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Desa Bibic and staff for their excellent and compassionate care over many years. A special thank you also to VON nurse Tetyana, Heritage Green Retirement Home and St. Peters Palliative Care. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, located at 947 Rymal Road East, in Hamilton, on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, from 6 – 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel, on Monday, April 27th, 2026, at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington, Ontario.
