The family of Marilyn would like to express the joy and gratitude that they had with her for 93 years. They would also like to express their sorrow that she left them on November 3, 2025, to make heaven a brighter place. Marilyn is reunited in heaven with her loving husband of 70 years-Chester, Marilyn is also reunited with her mother Mae Emily Hayton (nee Bevan) after 86 years and her father George Hayton and her sister Jill Crocker. Marilyn will be remembered as an incredibly loving and generous mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She gave a lifetime of love, support and memories to her five sons and their families, David (Lori (late Judy 2012)), Wayne (Gail), Paul (Lorie), Brian (Diane), Mark (Jackie). A proud grandmother to Adam, Gigi, Cory (Alyssa), Nicholas, Sara (Angelo), Stacy (Eric), Ryan, Zachary, Spencer, Natalie, Nicole, Amanda, Julia, Jack, Brendon. Lucky enough to be a great-grandmother to Lyla, Olivia, Cayden, and Sofia. Special thanks to Drs Heller, Chloe and Tyler, to Joanne Powell and to the staff in the 6th floor GI unit at St Joseph’s Hospital

For years, after the boys grew up, Marilyn worked at McMaster University as an assistant for the dean of Social Sciences and once she retired, she traveled the world with the love of her life Chester spending many winters in warmer climate, and cruising to different parts of the world. As long as life and memories last, we will love and remember you. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Canadian Cancer society or a local charity of your choice is requested. Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home 947 Rymal road east, Thursday November 6th 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Maragert Mary Roman Catholic church, 20 Idlewood avenue, Hamilton on Friday November 7th at 1 p.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery.
