In Celebration of

Paul Antony Riddles

February 7, 1964 - February 12, 2026

Born February 7, 1964, passed peacefully on February 12, 2026 at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, surrounded by the love of his family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Paul faced every step with dignity and grace, always saying he wouldn’t wish this disease on anyone. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.

Paul’s kind heart, beautiful smile, boundless generosity, and love of laughter touched everyone who knew him. Tina, his wife, best friend, and the love of his life, cherishes him deeply, as do their remarkable sons Noah (Jill) and Evan (Zoe), who were his world and whom he loved fiercely. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his boys and their partners – he was immensely proud of them all.

Paul’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him. He loved sharing a good laugh, great food, good books and unique music with friends and family. He enjoyed going to concerts, travelling, and cheering on his beloved Tottenham Hotspurs (COYS) and Buffalo Bills (Let’s go Buffalo!).

Deeply missed by his parents, Reginald and Julia Riddles; mother-in-law Lily Gasparik; siblings Tracy (Rob) Parry and David Riddles (Janice Holden) and sister-in-law Tara Gasparik; nephew Nick (Lindsay) Parry; niece Heather (Shaun) McMaster; and great-nephews Otis and Van Parry. Forever remembered by lifelong friends including Phillip Main and Jeff Miclash, his best friends since middle school, and Sarah Robertson, a cherished work colleague and friend; and his loyal fur-baby, Rascal.

Paul was an active member of the Hamilton legal community, founding Paul Riddles Law where he was a passionate advocate for vulnerable Ontarians living with mental illness and mental health challenges. He developed many friendships during his years in the pharmaceutical industry, where he was warmly regarded by colleagues across Canada.

Paul was a strong and beautiful soul, devoted to his family. He cherished every moment with Tina, celebrating the spontaneous adventures, the inside jokes they shared, and the wonderful life they built together with unwavering love.

His strength, courage, and tenderness were never more evident than in the way he fought to stay present with the people who meant everything to him.

Everyone who knew Paul carried away something meaningful from his wisdom, generosity, and quiet grace. He had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, valued, and cared for, and his presence changed our lives: a testament to a life lived with depth, purpose, and an open heart.

Paul and his family extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and teams at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice, Juravinski Cancer Centre, and to Dr. Brittany Salter for their extraordinary care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, blood, stem cells, or platelets are gratefully encouraged to help save a life (contact Canadian Blood Services 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283)); or perhaps you will consider donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice https://kempcarenetwork.org/donate/.
