With profound sadness, the family of Pietro (Peter) Alessi announces his passing at the age of 86. Beloved as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Pietro’s life was defined by his generosity, enduring strength, and the deep love he carried for those around him.

Pietro is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Sue, and by his loving sons, George (Leanne) and Johnny (Nicole).

He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Nicholas (Brooke), Miranda (Jason), Madison, and Sydney (Alan). Pietro was also blessed to be a great-grandfather to Max, who brought him immense joy.

Pietro is survived by his brother Giuseppe (Joe) and his wife Adelina. He is predeceased by his sisters Maria Sicurella and her husband Calogero (Charlie) (deceased), and Angela (Gina) DiFranco and her husband Mario (deceased).

He is also lovingly remembered by his extended family: his sisters- and brothers-in-law Giovanna D'Alessio (wife of the late Antonio (Tony) D'Alessio), Vincent D’Alessio, Benny D'Alessio and his wife Marilyn D'Alessio, and Anna D'Alessio.

Pietro will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family extends a special and heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff at St. Peter’s Hospital, whose compassion and dedicated care provided comfort and dignity in Pietro’s final days.

Family and friends will be received at Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Rd. East, Hamilton) on Friday, December 12, 2025 between 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 9 pm. A memorial service will take place in the Bay Gardens Chapel on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 12 pm. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
