It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Tubic, who left us on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the age of 54, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Steve was predeceased by his father Vojin Tubic, his mother Nedeljka (nee Farac) and his sister Voyka (Christine), all of whom he loved deeply and missed greatly.
Steve was a devoted husband to Tracy, who remained faithfully by his side throughout his illness, caring for him with unwavering love, strength, and compassion. He was a proud and devoted father to his daughter Kayla (Colton) and his son Caden, who were truly the light of his life and his greatest source of pride.
He will be deeply missed by his mother-in-law Jacqueline Rioux, father-in-law Paul Rioux, sister-in-law Kimberly Di Paolo and her husband Gian Francis Di Paolo, brother-in-law Michael Rioux and his partner Lakshmi. Steve shared a special bond with his niece Ella Di Paolo and nephews Marcus Di Paolo and Logan Di Paolo, who will especially miss their beloved “funcle” Steve. He will also be deeply missed by all of the Aunts, Uncles and Cousins he came to call his own over the years.
Steve will also be greatly missed by his lifelong friend and business partner Ricky DeFelice, with whom he ran a successful auto shop for 21 years. He will also be missed by his best man Ron Zdriluk, Len Monson and the Monson family, Childhood friend “Goggy” Jakovljevic and the Jakovljevic family.
An exceptional and passionate mechanic, Steve had a deep love for cars and took great pride in his work. Many of his customers became lifelong clients and friends, valuing not only his skill and honesty but also the way he welcomed them and treated them like family.
Beyond the garage, Steve was an accomplished Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner. Even while battling cancer, he demonstrated extraordinary determination and resilience, earning his black belt this past summer. His Pura BJJ family, led by PJ O’Sullivan, will deeply feel his absence.
