It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Yolande Paquin on April 23, 2026, at Emmanuel House Hospice, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 7, 1941, in Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Yolande lived a life filled with love, resilience, and grace. She and her husband, Hubert, along with their five children, moved to Hamilton, where they built a life rooted in family and community. They shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Determined to learn English after moving there, she faithfully watched her favorite television show, The Young and the Restless—a memory that continues to bring a smile to those who knew her.
Yolande was a beautiful and elegant woman with a passion for fashion and a love of jewelry. She was a talented hairdresser and seamstress who approached her work with care and perfection. She was an excellent cook who expressed her love through her meals. She was quiet yet witty, with a wonderful—and sometimes delightfully mischievous—sense of humour that brought laughter to those around her.
She loved traveling the world, gathering with friends and family, and spending time with all her family’s pets, which brought her great joy.
Yolande will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Hubert; her children, Lyne (Pete), Sandy (Jerry), Manon (Rob), and Michele; her cherished grandchildren, Mandie, Chelsie, Tiffany, Jessica, Jonathan, Andrew, Alysha, Samantha, and Sarie; her great-grandchildren, Piper and Jake; and a great-granddaughter who is expected in the coming weeks. She will also be fondly remembered by her siblings, Gaëtane, Wilfrid, Henri (Trish), and Fern (Ray).
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Guy, who we know was waiting to greet her, as well as her cherished NouNou d’amour, her loyal companion of 16 years, and her siblings Fabien, Laval, Rénald, Margot, and Adélard.
Yolande’s warmth, strength, style, humour, and devotion to those she loved will be remembered always. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Emmanuel House Hospice for the exceptional care and kindness shown to her.
Those who wish to make a donation in her memory may do so to Emmanuel House Hospice, 90 Stinson Street, Hamilton, ON L8N 1S2.
To honour Yolande, a celebration of life will be held on her birthday, July 7th, in Hamilton. More details will be shared at a later date.
She passed peacefully, surrounded by care and dignity. She will remain forever in our hearts.
