It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna on February 5, 2025. Her family and friends surrounded her and quietly joined those who had gone ahead. She is survived by her husband, Albert who has lost his soulmate, the most cherished person in his life, her loving mother Irma, and her sister, Luisa. Anna was predeceased by her father, Domenico, her in-laws Ascenzo and Letizia Sforza, and her sister-in-law, Victoria. Many members of Chiota, Tristani, and Sforza families were there to welcome her into God’s hands. Left to mourn are her sister-in-law, Anna (John Ferrelli) and family, Zia Maria (Pietro Ferrelli) and family, Giovanna (Giacomo Chiota), Alessandra (Jay Finlayson) Sebastian and little Cali, Zia Carmela (Rosario). A multitude of cousins, friends, and associates loved her and felt deeply her loss. Anna was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital and baptized at St. Anthony of Padua Church shortly after it was built on Barton Street. She attended Cathedral Girls High School and McMaster University with a love for history. She chose a career as a Librarian after she completed her Master of Library of Science from Western in London, Ontario. Following that she left Hamilton for St. Catherine’s and built her life in Jordan. Ontario. She grew her circle of friends and lent her expertise by serving on many committees and associations. After retirement, Anna continued her life by service by volunteering and pursuing her committee work. She was the first to lend a hand and give of her time. Anna embraced her family by welcoming us all every August for a reunion of aunts, uncles, cousins, and later generations of the Tristani clan. Our circle has grown smaller with her passing. The family will be receiving condolences at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, located at 947 Rymal Road East on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, February 14th, 2025 at 10 am, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, located at 165 Prospect St. North, in Hamilton. Please make your way directly to the church. Cremation has taken place, and an interment of her remains will be planned at a later date. Donations in loving memory of Anna may be made to the Juravinsky Hospital Cancer Care Unit, Doctor’s Without Boarders, or directly to St. Anthony of Padua Church in Hamilton. The family wishes to express sincere thanks for all the love and support during this difficult time.
