In Celebration of

Barbara Lynne Macro

May 29, 1948 - February 14, 2026

Barbara Lynn Macro (née McLaughlin), aged 77, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, after a long illness at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. A longtime resident of Burlington, she shared 48 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Alan.

Barbara was the beloved sister of John McLaughlin (Ann), Robert McLaughlin (Holly Klassen), and Mary Goodfellow (Robert). She was also a cherished sister‑in‑law to Gary Macro and his late wife, Laura, and to Janice Choquette (Robert). She was a loving aunt to Jeremy, Ellen, Brian, Andrew, Richard, Melissa, Meagan, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Juliana and a proud great‑aunt to Lucas, Cameron, Sage, Valour, Jean-Paul, James and Pierre all of whom brought her immense joy.

Barbara spent 21 years with Halton Regional Police Services, where she was respected for her professionalism, kindness, and steady presence, retiring after a long and dedicated tenure. Before joining HRPS, she held several other roles that helped shape her strong work ethic and warm approach to those around her.

Outside of work, she embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. A longtime member of the Burlington Boating and Sailing Club, she found peace and community on the water. An avid traveler, Barb and Al explored the world with a sense of adventure and appreciation for new experiences.

Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, her quiet strength, and the deep love she held for her family.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton for the exceptional care and support they provided.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Oakville Hospital Foundation or St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation (Hamilton) would be appreciated by the family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
