With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Bice DeSimone, who left this world on Monday August 25, 2025, knowing she was cherished by her loving family.

Born in Fondi, Italy, Bice immigrated to Canada in 1955 with her beloved husband, the late Gaetano DeSimone, to begin a new life filled with hope, hard work, and the dream of a better future. Though Gaetano passed in 1997, Bice carried his love in her heart, and their family remains a living legacy of their devotion.
Bice was the heart of her family, a devoted mother to Vincenza (Nick Di Lalla), Tom (Sandy), Luke (late Sue), Tony (Laura), Norma and Joe. She was a cherished grandmother to Paola (Kevin), Nicolas (Jenna), Tom (Taylor), Dana, Christina (Cam), Lisa, Jessica (Paul), Ashley (Eli), Jennifer, Anthony, Anthony (Skye), Marco (Kasia), Alyssa, Sabrina, and Angelina and great-grandmother to Sophia, Erik, Luke, Diana and Hunter. Bice is also survived by her extended family in Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal and Italy. She was predeceased by many dear in-laws and family members and is lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
She gave endlessly and loved deeply, always placing her family at the heart of everything she did. She will be remembered for the incredible meals she lovingly prepared, and the beautiful and funny stories she shared from her early years in Italy, stories that brought warmth and joy to all who listened.

A very special thank you to Dr. Phillip Staibano for his many years of dedicated care for Bice. Heartfelt gratitude also to Kim, Linda, and Judy for all their support, and to the compassionate staff at St. Joseph’s Villa for the kindness and care shown to Bice in her final days.

Now reunited with her beloved Gaetano, Bice leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family, one that will live on for generations.

Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - "William J. Markey Chapel", 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Friday, August 29th from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 620 Rymal Road East., Hamilton on Saturday, August 30th at 9:00 am. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the charity of choice would be appreciated.
