After a courageous battle at the Juravinski Hospital, in Hamilton on Sunday, December 28, 2025, Cam Theroux passed away at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of Sylvia Mary Theroux (nee Rogers) for 53 years. Loving father of Aimee Boys (Dave) and Dan Theroux (Michelle). Cherished Grandpa to Meagan (Frank), Isabelle, Brendan, Alexandre, Simon and Emma. Brother to Sue Theroux, brother-in-law to Angela Pelletier (Ray) and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Cam is predeceased by his loving parents Camille and Bertha Theroux.
Cam retired from Stelco after 30 years of service as a technical sales and pre-paint specialist. He then continued his working career with Namasco and Samuel Steel before fully retiring in 2013. Cam developed lasting friendships throughout his working career which he maintained and cherished throughout his retirement years. Cam was an active member of the Toronto Triumph Club and British Sports Car Club for over 20 years while owning his own 1975 Triumph TR6. He and Sylvia participated in many of the organized road trips and made many lifelong friendships along the way. He later joined the Golden Horseshoe Mustang Association when he purchased his 2014 Mustang GT convertible and enjoyed many of their activities as well. In his retirement he stayed active by volunteering at Theater Aquarius, Royal Botanical Gardens and for 10 years at the Art Gallery of Hamilton where he also served as a past president of the Volunteer Association. Cam enjoyed golfing with his family and friends, did wood working in his spare time, and enjoyed many forms of automotive racing such as Formula 1, Nascar, Indy and loved attending local races at tracks such as Ohsweken and Cayuga. Cam was a devoted grandfather who found much fulfillment participating in his grandchildren’s activities no matter how far they took him. Toronto plays, late night trips to the bulk barn, attending baseball games near and far, go-kart racing, teaching the kids to play golf, or taking in a movie are only a few of our favorite memories.
Cam’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lam & his team at the Juravinksi Cancer Centre. Special recognition going out to the nurses at ODS who Cam often said took good care of him each week. We would also like to thank all of the nurses from the Hematology unit and ICU for their kind and compassionate care.
