It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Claude Simms, who died peacefully in the early morning of November 17, 2025, at Juravinski Hospital. He was surrounded by his devoted family, including his loving wife of 60 years, Iris Simms, and his only child, Marsha Simms-Luke. Claude faced his year-and-a-half battle with Pancreatic Cancer with
remarkable courage, grace, perspective, and his sense of humour.

Claude was a truly exceptional man, widely known for his immense heart, kindness, generosity, and lively, talkative spirit. His beautiful, unforgettable laugh was a source of joy to all who knew him.

He was the deeply loving and caring husband of Iris and a devoted, supportive father to Marsha and father in law to Ryan Luke. He held the cherished role of "Papa" to his adored grandchildren, Isaiah and Samara, who will forever miss his presence.

Claude will be dearly missed by his surviving siblings: Keith Simms, Matilda Carter (Lambert), Joy Alexander (Horace), Cynthia Wright, Dyls Simms, and Lauren Simms. He also leaves behind many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Claude is now reunited with his mother, Edith Mitchell (Traille), his father, Headly Simms, his Step-Father, Frank Mitchell, and his in laws Hilda
and Stenburgh Harris,

He will be forever remembered by a wide circle of close friends including Hope Hinds, Monica and Arley Luke, Leaford Grant, and his lifelong childhood friends, Paul and Monica Williams.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to the Medical Care Team of C3 at Juravinski Hospital for their care, compassion, and professionalism in helping Claude transition.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are welcomed to either the Cancer Assistance Program or the Pancreatic Cancer Society Program, to honour Claude’s memory by supporting vital research and patient care

Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday November 27, 2025, from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm followed by a chapel service being held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - Hamilton, 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm, with burial to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton.
