In Celebration of

Daniel "Dan" Prue

August 7, 1962 - April 18, 2026

Prue, Daniel (Dan) aged 63 After a brief illness, Dan passed away in the early hours of April 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Woodstock, Ontario, Dan called Burlington his home for most of his life. He attended Aldershot HS and was a graduate of McMaster University. His generous spirit will be forever cherished by his mother, Emilie Prue; his siblings Louis Prue (Jan) Susan Prue (Terry) Peter Prue (Sharon) and Michele Prue.

Dan was a devoted Uncle to Wade and Taylor Prue, Alannah Penno, Alaina and Louis Prue and Sean and Cait Wimbush. Through sharing his love of science and the natural world, Dan inspired and encouraged their interests, supported their dreams and was an endless source of entertaining outings. Dan maintained close lifelong friendships with a chosen few. They shared many backyard BBQs and outrageous adventures together over the years, always keeping in touch.

Dan earned his livelihood as a Journeyman Carpenter. He was highly skilled, took pride in his work, but more importantly, took the initiative to mentor apprentices on job sites. Through sharing his knowledge, emphasizing safety and his many small acts of kindness, he supported those starting out in their careers.
Dan volunteered with the Bruce Trail, finding peace in the woods, bird watching, hiking and maintaining his section.

He was a kind neighbor; helping out, seeing what needed to be done without being asked. Please remember Dan through quiet acts of kindness, paying it forward and spending quiet moments in nature.

Please consider donations to the Bruce Trail, ( Bruce Trail Conservancy ) The Owl Foundation ( The Owl Foundation ) or the Canadian Cancer Society.

We cherish Dan’s memory and will miss him dearly. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
