With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Debra Anne Mamone in her 65th year, following a short but hard-fought battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Angelo for 40 years, loving mother to Justin (Stefanie) and Brandon. “Nonna” was cherished by her grandchildren Sofia and Zachary. She is also survived by her devoted parents Robert and Florence DiOrio, and brother Paul (late Carol). Dear sister in-law to Cathy (Joe), Mike (Rita), Frank (Dina), Rosa (Paul), the late Nancy (Hector) and compari Frank/Ciccio (Rosina). She will be profoundly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, neighbours, coworkers and most especially by her life-long best friend Karen Pelz.

Debra was a long-serving medical secretary for the late Dr. Larry Cowan for over 20 years, however known to many of her friends as “Debbie” you could always find her dancing to her favourite songs and being the life of the party. Even through her recent struggle, she remained hopeful and filled every day with positivity. The family would like to express its gratitude to the 3rd floor Oncology team at Juravinski Hospital, Dr. Mah and nurses Yola and Maria for their wonderful care in her final hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bay Gardens Funeral Home (947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton). A Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, July 7 beginning at 11am at the Bay Gardens chapel. Reception to follow. Cremation and entombment to occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Assistance Program would be appreciated by the family.
