It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Demetra Zafiridis who was born on August 11, 1936, in Thana, Greece, and passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, at the age of 89.

She was the cherished wife of the late Leonidas Zafiridis, with whom she shared a life full of love, family, and devotion. She will be profoundly missed by her son Christopher (Vasiliki) Zafiridis and her daughter Sophie (Victor, predeceased) Savruk. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren—Dimitra (Adam), Panagiotis, Kristina, and Alexa—and her precious great-grandchildren, Ellie and Nolan, who brought endless joy to her days.

Known for her ever-present smile and laughter, she had a way of filling every room with warmth and comfort. She shared countless cups of Greek coffee with friends and family, always using those moments to create cherished memories, pass on stories, and remind everyone of the importance of togetherness. Her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit were the foundation of her family’s love.

Though she will be missed deeply, her laughter, her stories, and her unwavering love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

May her memory be eternal.

Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington on Friday, August 29 from 5-8 pm with prayers at 7 pm. Funeral Service at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 22 Head Street, Hamilton on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 9 am. Interment Woodland Cemetery
