Passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025 at the age of 79 years at the Hamilton General Hospital.
Predeceased by his life partner of 33 years Dan Moriarity (2013), mother Jean (2008), father John (1996) and brother David (2023). Survived by his sister Sandra Wagner and her husband Frank, niece Lindsay (John), nephew Frank Jr. and extended family, in-laws and friends in St. Catherine’s, Hamilton, and Stoney Creek.

After graduating from Glendale High School (1966). Don had a career as a clerical employee at various transportation companies, and then moved on to the Hospitality industry, first at the Fort Erie Commerical Hotel for 5 yrs, owned by his Uncle Roger Featherstone, then returning to Hamilton in 1980 to the Crestwood Banquet Halls at the Strathbarton Mall. This is when he met his partner Dan and they had the following 33 years together. He then went on to complete a 30+ year career with Lilo Products/Bunzl Inc. Don enjoyed excursions on his E-bike and scooter and dinners with family and friends in Burlington, St. Catharines, and Stoney Creek. Don enjoyed gardening and was a proud recipient of 7 Trillium Awards over the years (the latest 2025).

As per Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place (finally got that “Smokin Hot Body” he has always wanted)

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life to be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington on Friday, October 17th at 11:30am followed by an inurnment of both Don and Dan at Bayview Mausoleum and Cemetery (opposite the funeral home). Please consider a donation to the Hamilton SPCA in memory of both Don and Dan.
