In Celebration of

Gianfranco Cinelli

February 10, 1955 - July 1, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gianfranco Cinelli, who left us peacefully at the age of 70, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Italy, Gianfranco was a hardworking and dedicated man whose life was defined by his love for family, strength of character, and resilience. He worked at Stelco for 35 years, where he was respected for his commitment and integrity.

Gianfranco was the beloved husband of Rita, his devoted partner and love of 48 years. He was a proud father to Luigi (Shannon), Peter (Taylor), and Stefano.

He was also a loving and proud Nonno to his cherished grandchildren, Luca and Anthony, who brought him endless joy.

Gianfranco will be reunited with his parents, Luigi and Maria Cinelli. He is survived by his mother in-law Antonia (Pietro Addezi, predeceased) his brothers Lorenzo (Anna, predeceased) and Vince, his sister Luciana (Domingo Agresta), sister (Nicoletta and brother in-law Annibale Silvano, predeceased) his brother in-law and sister in-law Ernie and Colleen Addezi, as well as his nephews, nieces, and many friends.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Coschi, the palliative care nurses, and PSWs. A special thank you to dedicated neighbours and friends, Anna and Tony Grieci, whose compassion and support brought comfort during his final journey.

Cremation has taken place, and a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
