Johnny Jr. Diamantino Fresco passed away on July 2, 2025, at the age of 19. He is the dearly loved son of João Fresco and Gena Diamantino (Miguel). He will be deeply missed by his siblings Raquel (Marco), Fabio (Mandy), Jason (Courtney), and Chris (Jess). He was the proud Tío to Addy, Valencia, Santiago, Matteo, Diogo, and Myla. Johnny leaves behind many friends and family, in both Canada and Portugal, who will remember Johnny for his love of nature, keen knowledge of the outdoors, and strong faith in Christ.

Johnny is surrounded by love, light and is at peace with Jesus in the Kingdom of Heaven smiling down on us. His connection to his faith was undeniable, often reciting Psalm 23 to his loving mother. On the night of his passing, he was received by our loving merciful Lord who opened the gates where he was met by the family who has gone before him.

Johnny had a passion for fishing and the outdoors like no other. He took every chance he got to go to Lake Erie, often taking long road trips with his father to find the “perfect” fishing spot. Johnny was fearless, there was nothing that could keep him from achieving what he set out to do, even when it took him into the wilderness. He also loved hunting, kayaking, and camping. Johnny would take special trips to Arrowhead Park, making beautiful memories with his family and furry friend Duke who he nicknamed Squeaks and Weasel. Johnny worked alongside of his big brother Fabio, who he looked up to tremendously, gaining all the knowledge and tricks of the trade to one day open his own company.

Johnny touched the lives of everyone he met. He was kind and respectful to everyone and always offered to help – especially to those most in need. His departure from us is temporary. We will one day be with him again and hear all about the great fishing spots in heaven.

Johnny, we love you so much and we know you are on your boat, in the middle of a beautiful paradise, catching fish you never dreamed of catching. Now, you have truly found that “perfect” spot.

Visitation will take place at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East on Sunday, July 13th from 3 p.m. till 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 620 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, on Monday, July 14th at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Cemetery.

We will be placing a memorial bench in his honour on the shore of Lake Erie (his favourite fishing spot) where we can sit with him, watch the sunset, and wait for “the big one!”

Johnny deixa muitos amigos e familiares, tanto no Canadá como em Portugal, que o recordarão pelo seu amor pela natureza, o seu profundo conhecimento do ar livre e a sua grande fé em Cristo.

O Johnny está cercado de amor e luz e está em paz com Jesus no Reino dos Céus, que sorri para nós. O seu apego à fé era inegável e recitava frequentemente o Salmo 23 à sua querida mãe. Na noite da sua morte, foi acolhido pelo nosso Senhor amoroso e misericordioso, que lhe abriu as portas, onde foi recebido pela família que o precedeu.

Johnny tinha uma paixão pela pesca e pela vida ao ar livre como nenhum outro. Aproveitava todas as oportunidades que tinha para ir ao Lago Erie, muitas vezes fazendo longas viagens com o seu pai para encontrar o local de pesca “perfeito”. O Johnny era incansável, não havia nada que o impedisse de realizar o que o proponha a fazer, mesmo quando isso o levava a aventurar-se na natureza. Também adorava caçar, andar de caiaque e acampar. Johnny fazia viagens especiais ao Arrowhead Park, vivendo belas recordações com a sua família e o seu amigo peludo Duke, a quem chamava Squeaks e Weasel.

Johnny trabalhou ao lado do seu irmão mais velho Fabio que admirava imenso adquirindo todos os conhecimentos e truques do oficio para um dia abrir o proprio negocio.

Johnny, tocou na vida de todas as pessoas que conheceu. Éra gentil e respeitador com todos e oferecia-se sempre para ajudar, especialmente aos mais necessitados, A sua partida é temporária, um dia voltaremos a estár com ele e a saber tudo sobre os grandes lugares de pesca.

Johnny, nos te amamos muito e sabemos que estás no teu barco, no meio de um belo paraíso, a fazer pesca de peixes que nunca sonhaste fazer. Agora, encontraste verdadeiramente o lugar “perfeito”.

A visita terá lugar na Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, no domingo, 13 de Julho, das 3 horas às 6 horas da tarde. A missa de corpo presente terá lugar na Igreja Católica Romana de Santa Catarina de Siena 620 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, na segunda-feira, 14 de Julho, às 11 horas da manha.

Iremos colocar um banco memorial em sua homenagem na costa do Lago Erie (o seu local de pesca preferido) onde nos poderemos sentar com ele, ver o pôr do sol e esperar pelo “ Maior!”
