It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Carbone, who left us on Sunday, October 19th, surrounded by family.

Maria devoted over 35 years to education, serving as a beloved elementary school principal who inspired students and colleagues with her kindness, leadership, and strong sense of humour.

Family was at the heart of Maria’s life. She cherished her loved ones and took great joy in spoiling her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces. Her Sunday family dinners were a treasured tradition filled with laughter, stories, and love.

Maria will be forever remembered by her siblings, Santo and Norma (Joe), her nieces and nephews, Joel (Melissa), Nicolas (Rachel), Maxine (Nick), Nicole (Jacob) and her great-nieces, Stella and Sidney.

She was predeceased by her parents, Savina and Fortunato, and sister-in-law, Denyse.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 16th, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the RBG Centre – Auditorium, 680 Plains Road West, Burlington, ON
