In Celebration of

Mark Higson

October 9, 1953 - November 20, 2025

Mark Higson peacefully passed away November 20th, 2025, in his 72nd year, surrounded with love by his wife (Gloria) and children (Laura & Joey). Born in Hamilton, ON, October 9th, 1953, to Marnie (nee Hannah) and Dan Higson.

In his words, “I had a good, hard, fighting chance at life, I was a hell of a ball player, and not half bad on the ice”. In addition to his proud accomplishments, he was also a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Gloria (nee Ollmann), and fantastic father to Laura and Joey (Luda) He was so proud and happy to be a grandfather to little Artie and adored watching him be a rambunctious little boy.

Mark was proud of his family and not shy to brag about anyone he loved when an opportunity presented itself. He will be joining big brother Dave and twin brother Jeff, at whatever awaits us after this life, along with his Mom and Dad, and so many dear family members and friends that we have had to say goodbye to. Loving brother to Danny (Carol), Greg (Steph), and Jimmy (Ann), brother-in-law to Kathy, Dale (Declan), Karen (Terry), Harry (Melanie), Ron (Barbara), and Lorraine, and nephew to Vic (Sandra).

Mark will be missed by so many friends and family, as he warmed the hearts of almost everyone, wherever he went. His 40+ year career at Bell Canada was nothing short of stellar, he was a leader, an advocate, and friend to many.

A celebration of life will be held at Brown Barrel Tap and Grill, 1515 Upper Ottawa St, Hamilton, on Saturday, December 13th, from 12 p.m. till 4 p.m.
