With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of Mathew Doucette, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the age of 33. After a courageous 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer, Mathew passed away surrounded by his loved ones and in the comfort of his home. He is survived by his parents, Rita DiMatteo and Richard Doucette, his brother Daniel (Jennica), his fiancée, Nilou Biganian, and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He cherished his close friends and family and will be deeply missed by all those who loved him. Mathew was trained in firefighting, security, and HVAC and used his growing talent in home renovations to help create a beautiful home. He will be forever remembered for the impact he had on people, a beautiful soul, the life of the party, his love for the Canadiens and the Dolphins, and for showing unending love and gratitude for his family, friends and everyone that supported him and cared for him on his brave journey. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, on Wednesday, May 7 from 3-8 pm. Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 1pm. Innichement to follow at Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in Mathew’s memory may be made to the SPCA.
