With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lina Gennaccaro-Pileggi on Saturday September 6th, 2025, at the age of 60. A cherished mother, wife, daughter, sister, and loving aunt, who left this world far too soon after a courageous battle with cancer. Lina’s strength, joy, and radiant spirit touched everyone who knew her, and her memory will forever shine in the hearts of those she loved.
Lina passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband, Gino Pileggi, and her adored daughters, Angela and Marisa. She is also survived by her devoted parents, Giovanni and Maria Gennaccaro, and in-laws Domenico (late Concetta) Pileggi. She will be greatly missed by her beloved siblings, Tony (Rose) Gennaccaro and Rose (Charlie) Puzzo, and brother in-laws Frank (Julie) Pileggi and Sam (Annique) Pileggi and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Above all, Lina’s greatest pride and joy were her girls, for whom she poured every ounce of her heart. Her devotion as a mother was limitless, and her love for her family; her husband, children, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends was beyond measure.
Lina was the light in every room and the laughter in every moment. Her fun-loving nature, endless positivity, and unwavering will to live inspired her family and friends every single day. She was a source of strength not only in her own journey, but also in the lives of those around her, lifting others with her boundless love and warmth.
Lina leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and inspiration. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her, but her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Juravinski Hospital and Juravinski Cancer Centre for their compassionate care and for providing Lina with comfort and dignity during her final days.
