It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Patrick on Dec. 8th at 9:58 AM, in his 65th year. Patrick died, at St. Peters Palliative Care Hospital, after a courageous battle with high grade glioma brain cancer.
Patrick, beloved husband to Susan, met and became best friends when they were thirteen; married at the age of twenty-two and celebrated forty-three years of marriage.
Patrick died holding hands and taking his last breath with the love of his life, Susan. (We found our paradise in each other. “You were the light of my life, and your light still shines brightly”). I will always treasure and miss our dinner and movie nights, spending time sitting by the pond with you, listening to the water and music, and working on vast home and craft projects.
Patrick loved his family deeply, but quietly. His granddaughter, Kalia was the apple of his eye. He was a good judge of character, an excellent protector, provider and mentor (working at ArcelorMittal for 40 years).
Patrick was a self-taught, talented individual, mastering many fields, some of which included: electrical, mechanical, electronics, photography, computers, drone operation, just to name a few. We will miss Patrick's barbecuing homemade hamburgers, sausages, exquisite ribs, beef jerky, hot peppers, pickles, and his huge vegetable and fruit gardens. Pat was meticulous, loved challenges/competitions and shared his love and talents willingly.
Pat was the much-loved father of Kelly and Tyler (D) Coward. Father-in-law Chase Magina. Grandfather to Kalia Keefe. Son of Kathleen and Robert (D) Paul, Eugene (D) Coward. Brother Michael (D), Donald (D), Dennis (D), and Kathy Coward. Son-in-law Gerald (D), Joyce (D), and Nora (D) Goodwin. Brother-in-law Vernon and Linda Goodwin, Lee-Ann and Glen (D) Gallant. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Sincere thanks to: Father Richard Dordunu for Anointing and Last Rites while Pat was in the hospital. Also, the many doctors, especially Dr. Dana Hafeez, Dr. Sharma (Neurosurgeons), Dr. Kalidindi (Oncology), Dr. Alan Taniguchi, and Dr. He (Palliative). All the nurses from St. Joseph's, the General and St. Peter's hospitals, especially Colleen and Beth (St. Peter's).
Special gratitude to: Angelo (the wave) Balice, Jeff Brandt, Mike Rudolph, Chris & Alanna Sheran, Joe Ivankovic, Bob Kobayashi, Olga & Luciano Magina, Cheryl Dagleish, Denise Araiche, Josephine Jackson, Marisa Leuzzi, Vanessa Villanueva, Vern and Linda Goodwin, Lee-Ann Gallant, Jamie Stinson and to those unwittingly omitted.

Eternal rest grants unto Patrick, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
Pat, may you be fishing with Tyler; eating and drinking to your hearts content… particularly chocolate covered cherries, ice-cream, chips and candy.
