In Celebration of

Ryan Glasbey

July 3, 1984 - August 16, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Ryan James Glasbey, who left us far too soon on August 16th at the age of 41, after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital surrounded by love.

Ryan was the devoted husband and best friend of Amy (née Johnston) and the proud, loving dad of Rikki, Nash, and Lenna who were his greatest joys in life. He was the cherished son of Christine and Bob Glasbey, and the much-loved brother of Dave (Sarah). Ryan was a fun and caring uncle to Evan, Noah, and Edward, a beloved son-in-law to David and Ann Johnston and brother-in-law of Jennifer (Trevor). His extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends will miss him deeply.

Ryan’s impact stretched well beyond his family. In the Burlington hockey community, he was known as a dedicated coach and mentor with the Burlington Eagles and at The Shield Hockey Center. He also built a strong reputation in his career, running his own plumbing business and becoming a trusted support to many local contractors and builders. Whether on the ice, at work, or in everyday life, Ryan was the person people could always count on. Gifted and naturally athletic, he had a talent for sports, but what truly set him apart was his kindness, humility, and generosity.

Above all, Ryan’s heart belonged to his family. Even throughout his illness, his love, strength, and presence for Amy and their children never wavered. His legacy of devotion, laughter, and love will live on through all who were fortunate enough to know him.

At Ryan’s request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would deeply appreciate donations to the GoFundMe page supporting his children’s education which can be made by clicking Make a Donation.
