In Celebration of

Thomas "Tom" Russell

March 1, 1928 - November 9, 2025

Passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 9th, at his residence, with his loving daughter Carol (Jim) by his side.

Tom was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Joan Margaret, and by his second wife of 23 years, Joan Cora. He is survived by his son Jim (Debbie), two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Tom is fondly remembered by his loving stepdaughter Carolyn MacDonnell (Dan), stepson Joe Sisson (Eileen), step-grandchildren Tyler (Jayne) and Rebecca (Arthur), and great-grandson James.

Tom retired from Westinghouse Canada after 38 and a half years of dedicated service.

Tom proudly won a silver medal at the 1949 World Ice Hockey Championship in Stockholm, Sweden. Following his hockey years, he turned to golf, where he achieved a perfect game and three holes-in-one. Snooker was another pastime he enjoyed, playing regularly with his good friend Al.

Tom leaves behind many loyal friends, including Lynda, Anne, Jeff, June, Chris, and Christina.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to special visiting nurse Colleen and PSW Alex, as well as to Dr. J. McCarthy and the Palliative Care Team at Joseph Brant Hospital, and to the staff at Christopher Terrace Retirement Home for their kindness and care.

Cremation has taken place in accordance with Tom’s wishes. A private interment service will be held at a later date.

If desired, donations may be made to the Saint Elizabeth Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
