In loving memory of our Matriarch Valrie Lashley. On Tuesday, October 7, 2025 she took her last breath peacefully at Juravinski hospital, surrounded by family and loved ones, at the age of 98.

She is survived by her daughters Megan and Deserié, her son Christopher, her Grandchildren Ronnie, Stephen, Amanda, André (Shana), and Ryan. As well as her great grandchildren Jayden and Kamron. She goes to rejoin her husband the Rev. Marshall Lashley and her second daughter Dr. Ruth Lashley.

Born in 1927 in Guyana, South America, Valrie moved to Canada over 50 years ago, where she worked at Beacon Hill Lodge until retirement. Always an active member of her church, Valrie built a large network of close, lifelong friends who were by her side until the very end.

She is deeply loved and will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 4-8pm at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Rd. E, Hamilton. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11am, at the Church of the Nativity, 1831 King St. E, Hamilton. Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main St. W, Hamilton.
